Inspired by our frequent friendly Kererū visitors to our plum trees this summer, I love that you always hear these large (almost clumsy) feathered fellows before you see them!

Lovingly handmade to upcycle selected materials:
Some of them are materials that you once might have seen in your grandparent's home, or may still be spotted in the odd kiwi bach. They've been salvaged from the imminent fate of ending up at various New Zealand landfills. Transformed through context, their colours, textures and patterns are designed to be celebrated in New Zealand homes once again, in a sort of nostalgic, (almost kitsch) subtle way.

The genuine vintage pearlescent wallpaper on Kererū's chest was purchased 40 years ago by my very own Nana to adorn their walls. It's quality and detailing supersedes many current wall treatments. It catches the light beautifully.
